SDH

Interoute's network is built largely of wholly owned fibre and duct giving Interoute total control over its services.  It comprises more than 55,000 km of lit fibre, spans 100 cities, 29 countries (including UAE, Russia, Turkey and USA), 21 Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN) and comprises over 200 Points of Presence.

Utilising Corning G.655 fibre at its base, it is a network built for today's carrier-class optical DWDM requirements.  Add to this an advanced SDH platform, and you have the ideal technology platform to support all your communications needs.

Our comprehensive SDH service gives you connectivity access to Europe's major and emerging business centres.  Our network covers all key Western European cities and it encompasses the all the major Eastern European business centres, connecting Europe to New York and most of the Gulf States in the Middle East.

The technology supporting the network has been designed to excel within the rapidly evolving telecommunications environment. Using existing carrier-class technologies such as Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM), the network is designed to complement future optical technologies, as well as higher service layers.

  • Scalability up to STM-64 (10 Gbit/s)
  • Direct add and drop capability for all tributaries (E1 to STM-64)
  • Compatible with ANSI (North American) standards, including an E1/T1 conversion service
  • Superior carrier class telemetry/service indicators to pre-empt service interruptions and pro-actively prevent service outages
  • High Availability using Interoute's comprehensive ring architecture design
  • Optimal Optical Layer inter-working
  • Flexible and efficient bandwidth sizing
